Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies System of Quality Assurance and Improvement
The Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies system of quality assurance and improvement is aimed at developing an institutional mechanism for systematic evaluation and coordination of initiatives and developmental programmes, with a permanent purpose of promoting high standards of professional and expert development of partners in all fields of Faculty’s activities.
The system of quality assurance is based on the Law on Quality Assurance in Science and Higher Education, European guidelines and recommendations for quality assurance, and other relevant regulations.
The system of quality assurance and improvement of the University of Rijeka is defined by the Regulations on the System of Quality Assurance and Improvement and University of Rijeka Quality Assurance Handbook.. In addition to these documents, the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies uses Regulations on the System of Quality Assurance and Improvement of the Department of Informatics, University of Rijeka.
Quality Policy
TheFaculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies accepts the University of Rijeka Quality Policy and in accordance with its mission and vision commits to fostering the culture of quality by:
- Continuously developing the system of quality assurance under European, national and university standards
- Assuring quality and effective education in which students are at the centre of the learning process, and which is based on study programmes in Informatics grounded in competence approach and learning outcomes
- Conducting innovative scientific and developmental research in cooperation with researchers from Europe and entrepreneurs from the wider region
- Caring about the employability of students, as well as the accessibility of informatics education to every interested individual through lifelong learning programmes
- Transferring latest information technologies and up-to-date knowledge into the business sector and the local community, with the aim of ensuring the transition of the region into a knowledge-based society.
The Quality Assurance Committee
Quality assurance at the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies is under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Committee. The responsibilities of the Committee are stipulated by the Regulations on the System of Quality Assurance and Improvement of the Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies, University of Rijeka.
